After a presidential campaign season riddled with violent rhetoric and logical fallacies, Yoko Ono uses resorts to her Trump card, her voice. The very thing at risk in a potential facist America. Shortly after the calamitous election of Donald Drumpf,  multimedia art activist Ono responds  by screaming for 19 seconds. Just screaming? Yes, indeed. Her performance is disturbing to hear. She uploaded her recording to Twitter on November 11th, 2016. The post reads, “Dear Friends, // I would like to share this message with you as my response to @realDonaldTrump // love, yoko” Here, Ono breaks with the “model citizen,” “respectable women,” and “silent acceptance” behavior expected after the results of a (supposed) democratic process. Her primal screech resonates with millions struggling to understand the coming era of American politics. And yet, it is not clearly anti-Drumpf, pro-Hillary, or goal oriented at all. For its listeners, it offers itself as a raw emotive reply to the world.
