Political cartoons have a long history of satirizing authority and illuminating political corruption. They bring together political commentary and art in a way that is both humorous and informative. Over the past few years, the alt-right has gained traction around the world, spurring a number of counter protests. The English artist, Matt Bonner, responded to alt-right policies in the way he best saw fit: by designing a giant balloon of an angry, baby Donald Trump in a diaper. It was, essentially, a 3D version of a satirical cartoon. Funding for the balloon was pooled together by the public on crowdfunder.co.uk. While Trump was visiting London, it was paraded around Parliament Square in protest. An organizer of the protest explains: “The only way that you can make any impact with Donald Trump is to mock him, because you can’t engage him in any kind of argument — it never gets anywhere.”
